Rhyme and reasons
Lagos paints to convey his instinctive urges to create visual representations. His passion is to invent imagery and bring it to existence. On canvas, board, or cardboard, paint is his preferred medium. His narrative and creative vision portray the places, personages or things that exist in his mind as memories.
His vibrant works are a reflection of his love for the art movements known as Impressionism and Expressionism. Lagos sets his aesthetics views within the context of imagination and the inventive value of a painting.
His thoughts, concepts about life are often times communicated through gestural and brash strokes of paint on any given surface. Be it on a corrugated piece of cardboad, canvas or masonite, his works are composed of colors that intertwined on a single surface results as an expressive, relevant image.
He paints instinctively, almost obsessively until his vision appears on his canvas or board. Music, and the materials on which he paints guide and inspire him. His works are impacted by his life experience and travels and a certain urgency to create.
