Based in Tacoma, Washington Lagos was born in San Salvador, El Salvador on July 4 1954. He left his native land in 1966 when his immediate family relocated to the U.S.A. At nineteen years of age he served in the United States Air Force for a tour of duty in 1974. Consequently, he pursued his formal education at Eastern Washington University where the major focus of his studies not only included Studio Arts but the French language and culture.
Growing up in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area facilitated visits to cultural events and places. His thirst for all art knowledge grew tremendously. Surreptitiously, he would spend school days studying paintings at The National Gallery of Art, The Smithsonian Institution or admiring early 1800’s architecture in Georgetown in the nation’s capital. A prelude to his extensive travels to Europe as well as living in Paris, in 1995.
